Understanding the effect of trace elements supplementation on volatile fatty acids production from proteins

چکیده
This investigation studies the impact of trace elements supplementation on protein anaerobic conversion into volatile fatty acids (VFAs). Two continuous reactors were operated with two model substrates, casein and gelatin, at acid (pH 5) neutral 7) conditions, addition macro micronutrients. Micronutrients increased acidification degree both proteins from 40% to 50% more than 60% only pH 7, which was consistent a greater amino consumption conditions. Furthermore, modified process selectivity, promoting valeric production other variations dependant composition. Isomerisation chain elongation processes identified as consequence observed deviations between VFA production. Overall, this study demonstrated that micronutrients can be useful enhance steer fermentation protein-rich streams.

The combined fermentation of sludge from the secondary sedimentation tank of municipal wastewater treatment plants and food waste enables not only waste reduction, but also the acquisition of volatile fatty acids (VFAs) for the biosynthesis of polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs). To better understand variables influencing the production of VFAs and PHAs, this study considered anaerobic fermentation of...

A well-defined fractionation approach for sludge flocs was applied to a better understanding of the underlying mechanism of improving the production of volatile fatty acids (VFA) in the hydrolysis and acidification processes at pH 10.0. Specifically, sludge flocs were fractionated through centrifugation and ultrasound into four fractions: (1) slime, (2) loosely bound extracellular polymeric sub...

15 صفحه اولEffect of volatile fatty acids on water and ion absorption from the goat colon.
The absorption of volatile fatty acids (VFA) and the influence of VFA on the net transport of inorganic electrolytes and water were examined in the temporarily isolated colon of the conscious goat. Perfusion of the colon with a solution similar in content to that normally present in the cecal outflow showed that the net absorption of VFA was more rapid than that of any other ion present in the ...
